A Trip to Yuksom/ ইয়াকসাম (The First Capital of ancient Sikkim) এবং রাবংলা

সিকিমের ছোট্ট শহর৷দক্ষিণ সিকিমের সর্বোচ্চ পর্যটনকেন্দ্র হল এই রাবংলা। উচ্চতা ৭০১৬ ফুট। সুউচ্চ মৈনাম পাহাড়ের পাদদেশেই অবস্থান রাবংলার। অবস্থানগত কারণে (মৈনাম পাহাড়ে ধাক্কা খেয়ে মাঝেমধ্যেই জলভরা মেঘ বৃষ্টি হয়ে নামে) বছরের বিভিন্ন সময়েই রোদ্দুর আর বৃষ্টির টানাপড়েন চলে এখানে। সামান্য ক’দিন ছুটি পেলেই ঘুরে আসা যায় এখান থেকে৷ কম খরচে কিন্তু রূপে-গুণে অপূর্ব এক জায়গা রাবাংলা৷ দক্ষিণ সিকিমের এক ছোট্ট পাহাড়ি শহর৷ খুব বেশি বাড়ি-ঘর নেই৷ বড়োজোর শ’খানেক৷ তার মধ্যে আবার অনেকগুলোই হোটেল৷ ফলে জনসংখ্যা যে খুব কম হবে, তা আন্দাজ করাই যায়৷ রাবাংলার উচ্চতা ৭ হাজার ফুটের কিছু বেশি৷ এখানে এসে এখানকার মানুষের সঙ্গে না মিশলেই নয়৷ রাবাংলা যেন হিমালয়ের কোলে বিভিন্ন সংস্কৃতির এক মিলন মেলা৷ নেপালি, ভুটিয়া, তিব্বতিরা তো বটেই, এমনকী প্রচুর বাঙালিও পাওয়া যাবে, যাঁরা প্রজন্মের পর প্রজন্ম ধরে বাস করেছেন এই শহরে৷ এবার আসা যাক চারপাশের বেড়ানোর জায়গায়৷ দেখার জায়গা বলতে কাছাকাছির মধ্যেই আছে বুদ্ধ পার্ক এবং তথাগত ট্যাসেল৷ বুদ্ধ পার্কে যাওয়ার জন্য গাড়ি ভাড়া পাওয়া যায়৷ দূরত্ব মোটে পাঁচ কিলোমিটার তাই শরীর সঙ্গ দিলে হেঁটেই যাওয়া উচিত৷ চলার পথে গায়ে এসে লাগবে ঠাণ্ডা স্নিগ্ধ হাওয়া৷ তেমনই পথের সঙ্গী হবে দূরের সমান্তরাল পাহাড়ের ঢেউ৷ দুইয়ে মিলে এই পাঁচ কিলোমিটার যেন স্বর্গীয় এক পথ৷ গাড়িতে গেলে যে আনন্দের অনেকটাই মাটি৷ আকাশ পরিষ্কার থাকলে গোটা পথ দেখা যেতে পারে দূরে নেপালের পর্বতশৃঙ্গগুলো৷ দেখা যেতে পারে সিকিমের বেশ কিছু উল্লেখযোগ্য শৃঙ্গও৷ এই সুযোগ সহজে ছেড়ে দেওয়া উচিত নয়৷ পাঁচ কিলোমিটার শেষে বুদ্ধ পার্ক অপেক্ষায় রয়েছে আপনার৷ পার্কের এক অংশ দেখা শেষ হলে, অন্য অংশে দেখার জন্য রয়েছে তথাগত ট্যাসেল৷ তবে শুধু এই দর্শনীয় স্থানের স্থাপত্য বা সৌন্দর্য দেখাই নয়, আপনি এখানে প্রত্যক্ষ করতে পারবেন শিশু সন্ন্যাসীদের শিক্ষা নেওয়ার পদ্ধতি৷ অগস্ট মাসের শেষে এই জায়গাটি স্থানীয় উত্সবের জন্য সুন্দরভাবে সেজে ওঠে৷ তখন এখানে এলে অতিরিক্ত আকর্ষণ থাকবে৷ আর হাতে সময় থাকলে ঘুরে আসতে পারেন একটু দূরের টেমি চা বাগানে৷ কীভাবে যাবেন: শিলিগুড়ি থেকে সিকিম সরকারের বাস নামচি হয়ে রাবাংলায় যাচ্ছে৷ বাস ছাড়া শেয়ার ট্যাক্সি মাথা পিছু ২৫০ টাকায় শিলিগুড়ি থেকে রাবাংলায় পৌঁছে দেয়৷ গ্যাংটক থেকে বাস বা গাড়িতে রাবাংলা আসাই যায়৷ Ravangla or Rawangla or Ravongla is a small tourist town situated at an elevation of 7000 ft in South Sikkim district of the Indian state of Sikkim. It is connected by state highway to other major towns in the state and lies between Pelling and Gangtok. It acts as the starting point for the trek to Maenam Wildlife Sanctuary. It is approximately 65 km away from the state capital Gangtok and 120 km away from Siliguri, West Bengal. The Buddha Park of Ravangla, also known as Tathagata Tsal, is situated near Rabong in South Sikkim district, Sikkim, India. It was constructed between 2006 and 2013 and features a 130-foot high statue of the Buddha as its centerpiece. Temi Tea Estate, located in Ravangla, is the only tea garden in Sikkim. It's considered as one of the best tea gardens in India and in the world. The Temi Tea Garden in Temi , established in 1969 by the Government of Sikkim, is located in South Sikkim in the northeastern Indian state of Sikkim. It is the only tea garden in Sikkim and considered one of the best in India and in the world. Top quality tea is produced, which is in demand in the international market. The garden is laid over a gradually sloping hill. The tea produced in this garden is also partly marketed under the trade name “Temi Tea”. 24.05.2018

Yuksom (ইয়াকসাম) :ইয়াকসাম প্রাচীন সিকিম র প্রথম রাজধানী| A Beautiful Destination in The West Sikkim. It was the first capital of Sikkim established in 1642 AD by Phuntsog Namgyal who was the first Chogyal (temporal and religious king) of Sikkim. It looks green, charming and even unspoilt, although it is a frequently visited tourist destination in the state of Sikkim. It is located in a peaceful, cozy surrounding covered by high hills and lush green forest. This small, but beautiful village doesn’t look like a growing centre of urbanisation, yet it has some decent facilities like hotels, restaurants, tour agencies etc. It’s the entry point for Kanchenjungha National Park and thus regularly visited by the trekkers and mountaineers from all around the world. In fact, many people think that the number of Indian visitors are far less than the foreign visitors. Kathog Lake :Kathog Lake is regarded as the Holy lake in the state of Sikkim, India. The lake has been blessed by Lama Kathog Kuntu Zangpo and it is said to be the soul lake or Lha-Tsho of Lama Kathog Kuntu Zangpo, one of the three pioneer lamas who conducted the historical coronation of the first Chogyal or king of Sikkim at Norbugang. He sanctified the lake in the 17th century for the purpose of his oracular practices. It is situated at the place called Yuksom, the first capital of Sikkim and it is about 125 Kms from Gangtok. The local people has a great respect for the lake and it is worshipped by them. According to the legend, the Holy water of the lake was used during the coronation ceremony of Phuntsog Namgyal , the first Chogyal or king of Sikkim in the year 1642, which was conducted at the place called Norbugang coronation throne located near the lake.
